Over a thousand boat people arrive in Darwin.

I have just been advised that a load of over a thousand boat people has just arrived in Darwin.

Oh, wait a minute, it was my Mum that told me that their cruise has just docked. D'oh! Silly me.

Cancel the boat people scare for today.... or should we? It looks like the media is still trying to create a scare about boat people.

His comments follow a report in The Daily Telegraph that several hundred asylum seekers will be transferred from Christmas Island to Darwin as the detention centre off Western Australia reaches capacity

It's easy to create scare headlines, as my headline for this thread shows.

And did I detect Peter "I don't want that seat, oh wait a minute maybe I do" Dutton call the levy a tax? Oh dear - he strayed from the script.

Just a quick post for the start of Friday as the exretement has hit the aerial agitator here at work and it's gonna be a hadr slog to make it until beer o'clock (and the rugby).

But I have now been shorn for the World's Greatest Shave.... pictures will be up later.

World's Greatest Shave

As the time draws near for my head shave, I would like to make a final appeal for anyone to sponsor me in the World's Greatest Shave, where the total amount raised is approaching $4.5 million.

So far, I have raised $538 for the Leukaemia Foundation to provide practical care and support to patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.

Here is the link to my sponsorship page, and yes - my hair looks more unruly now. The bf reckons I look like a mad (greying) professor. There will be photos taken of the event and they will be put up on Facebook.
