As the time draws near for my head shave, I would like to make a final appeal for anyone to sponsor me in the World's Greatest Shave, where the total amount raised is approaching $4.5 million.
So far, I have raised $538 for the Leukaemia Foundation to provide practical care and support to patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.
Here is the link to my sponsorship page, and yes - my hair looks more unruly now. The bf reckons I look like a mad (greying) professor. There will be photos taken of the event and they will be put up on Facebook.
So please consider a donation.
And to those who have donated, many thanks.

In a story that is bound to get some people feeling threatened, The Age is reporting that AussieBum is going to release a range of underwear made from bananas.
The new eco-friendly banana range of undies incorporates 27 percent banana fiber, 64 percent cotton and 9 percent lycra, AussieBum's Lloyd Jones said on Friday.
The innuendo possibilities are endless. Do I feel threatened? Not at all, I like bananas. |

It seems to me that each year we have the same story, that those who march are "taking away the dignity of the Anzac Day march".
Amid recurring concerns that the number of children and descendants marching in the parade are swamping the veterans, branches across Australia are introducing new rules for this years' marches.
I understand that the veterans want to have the primary focus in the march, but if others want to march to remember the fallen, then why is that bad?
Some of the objections are based on what people wear:
"Some people come with dirty joggers, an old pair of jeans, T-shirts with something written on it and their hands in their pockets, walking up the street."
And lets not forget, a part of the Anzac story is the irreverence shown to authority.
I really do understand that we need to keep the respect in the parade, but if we do not encourage the young to march - who will march in the future? |
